Number Two delivered the four Cree XR/E LEDs last week. After really messing up a Wal-Mart bike light I decided to focus on my original intent - CREE dome lights in the truck. After a couple of failed attempts I enlisted the help of another (promising) illumination enthusiast. My circuit design allowed too much voltage through the LED, and was de-soldering the contacts (for #7, this means the light was turning off).
After fixing the circuit, I was able to keep the light and solder on. I was then faced with how to put the light in the truck. At first I forced it in, and realized that the heat wasn’t going to allow the design to work. I figured out how the overhead console comes down, and wired the LED directly into the dome-light power wires. Viola!! After wiring both front dome-lights, I realized that I had one left. Last night I replaced the driver-rear bulb with my last Cree. Sadly, one Cree was harmed in the production of this write-up. Below you will find pictures of the new F150-CE
